Volunteering for ARF

Volunteer

As an all-volunteer organization, ARF is always looking for new animal lovers to join us! We need caring people who are interested in devoting some time and effort to helping needy animals. When you give animals the gift of your time, you’ll get back as much as you give—maybe even more.

Just a few hours out of your day or week would make a world of difference in the lives of our animals… We often have a particular need for weekday morning volunteers.

Shift times are slightly flexible based on volunteer availability and particular duties, but are generally:
Morning  8AM to 10AM
Evening  5PM to 7PM

Guidelines

DOGS: Volunteers must be at least 18 years old to work with our dogs.

CATS: Volunteers must be at least 14 years old to work alone in any of the catrooms. Volunteers between 7 and 13 years of age must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian at all times.

There are no specific skills required and our volunteer opportunities include general duties, many of which you would do for your own pets such as:

  • Feeding
  • Cleaning
  • Dog walking
  • and of course, providing lots of love and attention!

If you would like to volunteer at ARF please fill out an application. Once received, an ARF coordinator will reach out to schedule training based on your availability. An ARF Volunteer Waiver must also be completed and signed before any volunteering can begin.
